Shoe Station is making its own Louisiana Sales Tax Holiday Friday, August 3. The one-day promotional event comes on the heels of news that the Louisiana State Legislature is not renewing the popular holiday for upcoming years. The chain will cover state and local sales taxes for its Louisiana customers.
"Since the state is not covering your taxes in the near future, Shoe Station will this Friday," stated Shoe Station President and CEO Brent Barkin.
Shoe Station has two locations in Baton Rouge and one in Lafayette. The retail chain has 21 stores overall in five states.
"Taxes add up, and our fans in Louisiana can enjoy fashion knowing that we are helping to 'foot' the bill," President and CEO Brent Barkin said.
The limited-time promotion is in-store only and applies to shoes only.
"This Friday will be extraordinary because we are covering your tax on shoes, including luxury lines that are rarely discounted," Barkin stated.
Brands sold at Shoe Station include: Alegria, Birkenstock, Bull Boxer, Bussola, Chaco, ColeHaan, Hey Dude, Nike, OTBT, Reiker, Sperry, Taos, Toms, Under Armour, and Vionic.
Shoe Station's promotion is in compliance with tax laws and regulations. The discount customers will receive in Louisiana is equal to the tax rates in those states and cities. The limited-time promotion does not apply to online or prior purchases.
Shoe Station is one of the nation’s largest independent shoe retailers, with large open-shelf shoe stores in Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, and Alabama. For locations and hours, visit www.shoestation.com.
